Ryo was born in Japan and lives in Canada. Mainly working in sculpture,
he explores the concept of the straddling of the two extremes:
Tradition and contemporary, life and death, pleasure and pain.
His works draws upon the Japanese handicraft tradition and melds it with
the simplification of forms prevalent in anime.
